Thoughts

There should be some mention of the Linux User Group set up by Frank over a decade ago. Under the U3A (University of the 3rd Age), he started the group in Rustington and even took a dozen of us all the way to Cern where we met the Frank in his working capacity next to his Linac - linear accelerator that was still providing the ammunition for the Large Hadron Collider over 30 years later! Ursula noticed I seem to have adopted them as a new set of parents, which was true for a while, at least until I lost my own ability.

Not many folk are old enough to remember a Second World radio comedy programme called “It’s That Man Again” (ITMA). When I was driving Frank to visit Ursula in Worthing Hospital, Frank and I used to recall the characters. I would start by ‘Mrs Mop’ - ‘Can I do you now sir’ and Frank would reply - ‘This is Fump speaking’ and then reel off various characters. This reduced me to fits of laughter and how we did not arrive at Worthing Hospital as patients instead of visitors, I shall never know. I always hoped, at this time I helped lighten Frank’s great concern for his beloved Ursula.

Thank you for setting up this memorial to Frank. We hope that you find it a positive experience developing the site and that it becomes a place of comfort and inspiration for you to visit whenever you want or need to.
